Latest data: South Florida homeowners under pressure (Q4 2026)
- Foreclosure filings, January to June 2026 vs. the same months of 2025: Broward up 27.7% (1,952), Miami-Dade up 28.7% (1,868), Palm Beach up 41.0% (1,313). Statewide: up 40.5%. Source: court clerk data compiled by the University of Florida Shimberg Center.
- Broward's first half was its highest since the series began in 2019, and June's 363 filings were its busiest month in that period.
- Of the 24 Florida buildings that 2025 milestone inspections found unsafe or uninhabitable, 23 were in Miami-Dade, 19 of them in Aventura (OPPAGA Report 26-04, July 2026).
- Citizens' personal residential policies fell 55.1% in Miami-Dade, 56.0% in Broward and 68.7% in Palm Beach between August 2025 and August 2026.
